slices of Chocolate and almond marble cake

This Chocolate & Almond Marble Cake is so moist and delicious. A great afternoon tea treat or dessert served with cream. If you love almond and chocolate, this cake is yummy.

Super simple and quick to make, it’s really good as a birthday cake too.

I like to put a few extra drops of almond essence as I love the almond taste, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

All you have to do is beat the softened butter and sugar in a bowl, add the eggs one at a time, beat well. Then fold in the essence, almond and plain flours.

Take a third of the cake mix and fold in the chocolate powders and vanilla essence. Now dollop around like the below picture.

Stir around with a skewer or knife to mix to a marble effect.

Then bake in a pre-heated oven at 165°c for 40-45 minutes, check the centre around 35-40 minutes with a knife, if it’s clean without any cake mix, it’s cooked and ready to bring out.

Enjoy a slice with a lovely cup of tea or coffee, go on, get into the kitchen, you know its worth.
